VN Guesthouse Right place, Right feeling

Welcome to VN Guesthouse!

VN Guesthouse is located in Kanchanaburi right at the river side with amazingly panoramic views of the River Kwai.

Featuring a fan or air conditioning, the rooms all come with a private bathroom with a hot shower and toilet. We offer different room types, from a concrete room with TV on the land to a room on our raft house with private balcony overlooking the river. Free WiFi is available in all of the guestrooms.

Our helpful team members are always welcoming you and will do their upmost best to ensure you have an amazing stay with us. We can help you to arrange tours, give you our best recommendations of places to visit and things to see. We also have motorbikes available to rent.

Besides our guesthouse, we do have an authentic on-site restaurant. Our restaurant overlooks the River Kwai and brings stunning (sunset) views throughout the day. We serve freshly made Thai, Burmese and European dishes daily from 7 AM to 10 PM. Fresh coffee, fruit shakes, cold beers and cocktails are available.

VN Guesthouse is located only a few minutes walk from the Kanchanaburi train station and 2 KM from the bus station in the city centre. The easiest way to reach our guesthouse is to get local transportation from the bus station.

The Death Railway Museum, which is what we recommend to visit, is a short walk away, in front of the War Cemetery. The Bridge of the River Kwai is 2 km away as well as plenty more interesting places to visit, just ask our team upon arrival.

Old favourite One of the original riverside guesthouses and little has changed in around 40 years.Beautiful views from the restaurant and rooms. Prices were good and the food was exceptional. Can be a bit noisy at weekends with Thai river discos and a nightclub across the river but the its still an exceptional place. Ear plugs free at reception.

Great value for money in modest, rustic, guesthouse on a river I have been to this area many times, and wanted to stay in a room on the river. I couldn't believe the price, but booked it nevertheless. It turned out to be one of the great values, excellent locations, and completely quiet, so that one could hear the river monitors that sunbath on the bamboo barrier outside the bank of rooms on the river. Although the review I read was in error about the conditions of the facilities, that the toilet was the old style, in fact the room was clean, well laid out, and perfect for our needs for the price, 300 baht a night ($10.00 U. S.) There is a charming, airy, restaurant upstairs, from which one can view the complete length of the river, from bridge to bridge, and across to the other side. I took my morning tea and evening wine, as well as most daily meals from this restaurant. The staff are very hospitable and knowledgeable, and directed us to transportation, exhibits, and every worthwhile activity for which the Death Railroad on the Bridge is known. I learned that the guest house has already earned highest ratings. They are most often used by Thais. I was the only foreignor around!

100% recommended Every disadvantage has its advantages.VN guesthouse sadly had to close due to the coronavirus, they plan to re-open in July. Of course, they will need to stock up on fresh produce for their restaurant. As expats and regular costumers, they were nice enough to give us the cheese they still had in stock for free. We appreciate it very much, and cannot wait until they open again so we can go for some of their amazing meals. They have the best salades and sandwiches in town, with of course the best cheese!Their Thai food is also amazing, and they serve delicious fresh fish (reserve 1 day ahead).Besides their restaurant they also offer good & clean rooms on the river against a very good price. 100% recommended.

Ok uma noite It is a nice place close to the stations and the Main Street, but very calm. It’s a simple place, small room, but clean. Just in the river, you can listen the river.Disliked · The door not close very well.

Good location, nice bar, nice hosts, fairly basic room. Nice enough place for 2 nights. Bar is nice. We had a river view raft room which had a beautiful view, but was a bit dark and dingey and the bathroom is very basic. It is on a raft however so they can't be criticised for this.Bar is relaxed . It does suffer from the occasional drain smells.Very easy to walk to from the train station.Nearest big street is only a 5 minute walk but sadly is dominated by go go bars.Good value river view exploring base.

Excellent views of the River Kwai I chose this guesthouse for my birthday, as I wanted to stay on a raft. We were lucky enough to get Room 10, which has the best views of the River Kwai. The room was really nice, as the walls and floor are made of bamboo, so it felt authentic. The beds were comfortable and we slept very well with the gentle movement of the raft on the river. You do have to ask for cleaning, but there are bins available for your rubbish and you can just ask for toilet paper or towels at reception. For the price, you can't expect full service. The restaurant is lovely, the food is excellent, all cooked fresh and very delicious and you can choose between the normal tables or sitting on comfortable mats both with great views of the River Kwai. We checked out really early and the manager organised for a taxi to take us to the train station. The only room for improvement is the process for ordering food. Sometimes we would take a table and no one would bring a menu or we would have to ask to order.

great food Didnt stay here, but ate here every day while staying nearby... Food very good, price reasonable and staff very nice! I hired a motorbike and they did not want to keep my passport, only made a copy which was returned when I returned the bike... No cash deposit either 🙂 They also booked me a ticket on a minibus to Bangkok, "slightly" more expensive but pickup from right outside, saved me having to get to the bus station with luggage (I stayed at Tara Raft, right next to VN) so very good value, Vans can be booked every hour during the day. I will 100% go back when I return to Kanchanaburi
